Freedom From Phobias & Fears

Fear of Flying?

Being afraid or anxious of a ‘thing’ or ‘situation’ is generally known as a phobia. These fears are learned behaviours that developed from an experience that was scary or frightening in the past.

When you encounter a situation that feels frightening (or causes anxiety) your brain will alert your body to go into the ‘freeze, fight or flight’ mode i.e. your body physiologically adjusts itself by racing heartbeat and quickened breathing (for example) in readiness for running or hitting out etc.

When you are in this heightened state of awareness things become more acute and focused (a hypnotic state) therefore your subconscious mind keeps being negatively programmed to react in fear to that very thing each time you encounter it.

Hypnosis can help you unlearn this behaviour by calming your brain and helping you put new patterns in place.
