There is often a sense of intrigue around hypnosis (which is due in part to TV and stage shows) but let me reassure you, hypnosis is not something that is done to you, in other words it is not a mysterious process where someone takes control of your mind.
When you are in a hypnotic trance you are neither unconscious nor asleep, in fact, you are still very aware of yourself and your environment.
Most people naturally enter this state throughout their day and also before drifting off to sleep at night. Some other times this occurs is when you are daydreaming or totally engrossed in a good book or watching an enjoyable program on TV or DVD.
Have you ever said to someone “I was miles away “or “I was in a bit of a trance” or have you often felt ‘good’ or ‘sad’ after being deeply focused on the characters in a movie or book, if so, then you have experienced a natural state of hypnosis.
You can never be made to do anything that you do not want to do when you are in a hypnotic state.
When you are in an hypnotic trance state you have the ability to update your subconscious mind and to encourage change in thinking in a more positive way. It may also interest you to know that the real power of hypnosis and its resultant success is solely attributed to you and your intentions.
